Periodic Inspection & Testing, which is also known as an EICR, or an Electrical Installation Condition Report, is a useful way to understand exactly what state your electrical wiring and equipment is in.

EICR's aren't just for domestic premises, they are also a requirement for commercial and industrial premises.

Some insurance companies will ask for proof that an electrical installation is up to a satisfactory standard, an EICR is the approved method of providing this information.

Electrical Installation Condition Reports are also required following an issue to your premises, for example, a flood or a fire.

Landlords are also required to have a current EICR for any property that they rent out, this is commonly known as a Landlords Electrical Safety Certificate
